Enrolment in grades 1-6

Enrolments at Elliott Heads State School are welcomed at any time of the school year. Our principal is a teaching principal, and is not always available for school tours, but our administrative officer is usually available to show prospective parents and students around our school.

Parents wishing to enrol their children at our school should, in the first instance, either download our enrolment package, or call into the school office, during office hours of 8.00am–3.00pm to collect a package.

At Elliott Heads State School, we require all prospective students and their parents to meet with the principal prior to enrolment. This interview can be arranged by telephoning or calling in to the office to make prior arrangements. The enrolment interview will take place after school hours, or on an administration day, according to the principal’s schedule.

Enrolment in Prep

View the department's prep ready reckoner calculator to determine when your child can commence their preparatory year.

Elliott Heads State School also accepts Prep enrolments throughout the school year. If you wish to advise the school of your intention to enrol your child in Prep, in the next school year, please do so by emailing the school, or by telephoning, and giving our administrative officer the following information:

  • Your child’s name and date of birth
  • Your names as parents
  • Your address, email and phone contact details

This information will be used to contact you later in the current school year to advise you of Prep transition days, which typically occur around November each year. At transition days you will receive the enrolment package and details about booklists and school uniforms.

Elliott Heads State School also operates an organised playgroup, which operates in the Prep classroom every Friday morning from 9.00–11.00am. If it is at all possible, we encourage parents of children from birth to pre-school age to attend our weekly playgroup so that your child/ren become comfortable in the classroom setting. Bring a plate to share for morning tea, and join in the fun!
